after posting a reply to another thread i wondered if anyone can answer these questions??.
1. why are sisters not allowed to wear trousers?.
2. when sisters where a skirt why have they got to be below the knee?.
just to see what would happen or if anybody said anything i recently attended a meeting in trousers ( im female)
Welcome Smiler! Having read this board over the past 9 months (never was a Dub) I would say you were pretty gutsy.....hmmmmm , and no one said anything....your congregation must be one that a lot of people around here would dream of. Good for you!!

what is the purpose of being a jehovah's witness?
i was always told it was to be a witness of jehovah, meaning you stood up for and defended your faith, your beliefs.
i realize that this is a hard thing for some to do, it takes bravery, knowledge, faith and a convection that what you believe is right.

My Dad's been gone for over 10 years now...we were very close and I think of him everyday. I have no doubts that when we too put aside our journey in this life, we will again be reunited with those we love....and you know what...I bet your mom is still loving those leaves and is closer to you than you know.
not to get too deep of a "scary" subject, but wanted to hear opinions out there.. when taught at the kh, we were always told there is no such things as ghosts, but if there were one it was a demon.
i want to use that as an example to how dogmatic they are about so many things, that if they say it to be one way, then that is the truth period.. as it turns out, growing up, we had a ghost in our house.

Why is it we can call on God, Jesus, Angels, any good force and they don't make their presence known as easily? I know in Bible times, they appeared, if you believe the bible, and you hear of others seeing angels. But What I am talking about is actually summoning them, angels for help, or God to make you believe in him?
Maybe because that's part of the plan for the human experience on this earth? I think a lot of the personal experiences in the Bible are meant to help us, in our day in knowing God...but they're the exception, rather than the rule. Just think, people back then didn't have a 'bible' so to speak, to sit down, read and ponder like we do. I'm not saying He can't do it, I'm just saying that maybe it has to do with they way we progress and grow here, call it learning by faith.
Even Jesus had to figure things out. In LUKE, his transition from a 12-year old to a 'Rabbi' is noted with this one sentence:
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. "
This life can be difficult and very confusing, but it comes with a promise: " To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne." (Revelations)

actually, the us army is keeping me busy, but they've decided to promote me to the rank of sergeant first class with the corresponding $300.00 a month pay raise.

of course i know that many of you here do not believe in the bible and its promise of a resurrection.
some of you do not even believe in a creator.
but those of you apostates that still do believe in a resurrection back to life, you would no doubt agree that not everyone of those who are resurrected will come back to life all at once.
As one who's never been a DUB, it's posts like this that make me shake my head and wonder how the simple gospel of Jesus Christ can get so twisted....
